New Wave always starts each new season with the Guide Training Program. For those of you who would like to make a living at the “greatest job in the world” or for those private boaters who wish to hone their rafting skills and maximize river safety, this is time and money well spent. This years month long program had two participants. Ben, an avid rock climber who hails from the Northwest, and James, a pilot from Los Alamos, who now wishes to step out from behind a desk. For 5 days we repeated runs down the Race Course’s Class 3 rapids, accumulating 13 total, with lots of scouting rapids, searching for the ultimate run and critiquing the results. The training program now continues for Ben and James, as they participate in more trips down the rapids until they feel ready to pass the final on the water, in the rapids, exam.  For more information simply go back to our web site.
