Another New Wave Rafting Co season under our belts … 33 summers of running the Rio Grande and Rio Chama! And … there is an El Nino predicted for this winter, with above average snowfall. Call us in late winter to find out about the snowpack, and book your Taos Box trip. Talk to you then.

Also, check on this blog during the winter, since we post all the time. You never know what you’re going to see!

The Taos Box

Owner of New Wave Rafting Co. Steve Miller (along with his wife Kathy), has just published the 2nd edition of his photo book on running the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. Here is the announcement:

Announcing the publication of “The Grand, The Colorado River in the Grand Canyon, a Photo Journey and Visual Guide, 2nd edition”. This is the 2nd edition of a now out-of-print photographic book. “Hi there, Thanks for your note.  The family and I had a GREAT time – one of the highlights of our vacation. All because of the great organisation and service that your people provide.  We were very, very impressed with Orlando, our guide for the day. Please send our best wishes and please let him know that he provided my family and I with a holiday that we will remember as a family, literally, forever.  Thank you.  Charlie, Stacey, Morgan, Zoe and Joel Weiser (Sydney, Australia).”

New Wave Rafting Co. exceeds your expectations!

The Rio Grande river is now warm (70m degrees!), which makes rafting, swimming and funyakking extra fun and refreshing. If you’re fit and not all thumbs, you too can funyak. The photo shows the most exciting moment on the Racecourse section, at the “Slot”, at Big Rock Rapid. You can request a funyak on our New Mexico Rafting Racecourse trip, at no extra charge.

From decades past, we have resurrected a great T-shirt design. “On the Banks of the Rio Grande” celebrates our great location in Embudo, New Mexico, where our headquarters are, indeed, located right on the banks of the Rio Grande. We operate SUP lessons right here and funyak rentals that either come or go from our riverside location. And, funyaks are available at no extra charge on our regular trips. Just ask.

As summer comes into full swing, we are now operating near capacity. We’re getting large groups, small groups, church groups, Boy Scout groups – many, of course, from Texas! New Mexico Rafting is what folks want, and we have it. Though the State of New Mexico is officially in drought, around here we have the gorgeous Rio Grande, running clear and warm (70 degrees!). You too can be refreshed with New Mexico rafting, with New Wave Rafting Co., on the banks of the Rio Grande. “Nuevo Wavo, Muy Bueno”.
